In regards to the fellow doing a take off on the best deputy in the world. I
visited his site and found it to be a nice site. His message certainly seems
to be in the right place and even his comedy act is with the family in mind and
offers a clean alternative to some of the stand up acts out there. I
personally have chosen not to do comedy clubs but, hey, if he can bring clean
humor into the clubs, more power to him. I say, it's a big old world out there
and every guy deserves a chance.

On another note, I wanted to express my thanks to the menareblabbermouths
chapter up in west virginia for the wonderful plaque with the two nickels on
it. Would you believe that the buffalos are really facing different ways? I
never thought i'd see that. It was a wonderful gift and one that I will
treasure.

If you want to call Howard, you have to call his mother first to get permission
for him to talk on the phone.

Yeah, Floyd, but getting those little hairs down the back of your neck makes ya

PS Albert, are you in advertising? You have a flair for it.

I bet Floyd even has rose-water. I was raised in a big
family and we got chili-bowl haircuts. The first thing
I bought when I got my first real job at 14 was a
haircut.

It was a tonsillorial parlor not unlike Floyd's. Full
trim, neck shave with hot lather, talcum, rose-water
and scalp massage for $0.75!

No one seems to remember rose-water.

Here's one for you.

How many relatives can you name of citizens of Mayberry?

Here's a few:

The lady who saw the woman speeder - her sister was Tilly with the cloth
coat and the long teeth.

Otis Campbell's brother Ralph and sister-in-law Verlaine.

Uncle Ollie and Aunt Nora - and the two boys.

Aunt Bee and the brother that she had ( as a result she won't even allow
fruitcake in the house! )

Carol: (Floyd's haircuts) - no, I'm not in the advertising biz. However, I
did read a lot of matchbook ads (before Bic lighters were around) and comic
book ads when I was a kid. Sounds sad, don't it!

Ted: (rose) - I remember rose-water. I haven't been to a barber that ever
offered it but I do remember it. Rose-water is nice. Real nice!

AuntBee1: (relatives) - Clara Edwards nephew, Ferdie.

Mayberry looked like it got hot in summer but not the kind of heat some of
the rest of you are experiencing. And we are only in July! I had relatives
living in Trona, Ca. Lo-triple digits were the norm in summer. CAPT's 108
in Wy. sounds pretty bad. When I was stationed as a Marine in Barstow, Ca.,
well, you either adapted to the high heat and become a desert rat or you
just sort of withered away. How about the rest of you?

Hi!
I'm a newbie on this site, and loving every minute and email on ol' Barn and
Andy, Aunt Bee, Opie and the gang.

Jut a few great lines from that episode, "Convicts at Large":

1. FTTYDK "Funny the things you don't know" Floyd to Barney.

2. LMGYITLORAP "Let me guide you into the land of rhythm and pleasure"
Barney to one of the female convicts (not Big Maude) I forgot her name...maybe
some will help!

3. IHCB "I hate crowded ballrooms" Barney (otherwise known as Al in this
episode) to Big Maude Tyler.

Ever notice on the first two seasons of TAGS Opie and Andy have floats atop
their fishing poles as they walk to the lake???

Loving my DVDs of the 1st and 2nd seasons, and can't wait for #3!

I 'preciate it!
