I saw our own John Masters working as a Hotel Clerk when TMC was
showing the movie today called "Monkey Business." I guess that John
later got transferred to the Hotel at Mayberry.

All this talk about a tall glass of "sweet tea" sounds really good right now,
especially since it has been in the 90's for several days here in Cincinnati.
I am still looking for those Gypsies that came through Mayberry in the hopes
that they can bring us some much needed rain. I'm just glad my darlin' person
Dave is growing tomatoes, because I would hate to have to buy them!! I don't
remember seeing the iced tea that Andy brought out to Aunt Bee and Clara
because they don't show the end of each show here, but that sounds really
sweet. Sure does make me wish I had TV Land so I could see all the endings
again.
Hey Jeff, I put my bucket on and I was thankin' about money in Mayberry and I
seem to remember Opie mentioning putting a penny on the railroad track and
letting it get mashed. Of course you know that that would make it more
valuable!! What about the money Opie lost trying to get Andy the razor at the
county fair?? I know we see Opie and Goober put some money down to shoot the
rifles, but we don't see the total they spent tho we do hear them talk about
it.
Folks were talking about Floyd's last appearance on TAGS and I seem to remember
reading something about that here on the digest a while back. Wasn't Floyd's
last appearance on TAGS the episode where Howard Sprague bought the building
the baber shop was in??
I really have been enjoying the digest lately, lots of good topics.
One of Cincinnati's Biggest TAGS Fans,
Anita Carpenter

I believe what happened to the room after the make over was explained at the
end of the show when Andy was encouraging everyone to have fun at the party. I
don't remember his whole speach, but in it he says "and aunt Bee will have the
room she has always wanted or he could have said always dreamed of" Andy
probably took her old room & may have had to do a little redecorating himself
if it ws too "girley"

I think that in the case of Andy's room being changed when everyone thought
he was marrying Helen, Andy offered to make it Aunt Bee's room. I would
have to check to make sure, but I think that is what happened in that
episode. Lisa

Mayberrians,
Was watching "Mayberry Goes Bankrupt" and was thinking
the producers ought to get some money for having
thought up the whole "Extreme Home Makeover" thing.
And, while I don't believe in reincarnation, there is
a great similarity between Mayor Pike and Ty
Pennington.
I 'preciate it,

Aunt Bee is sweeter than Granny Clampett but not as sweet as Mother Goose.

Thanks to all those playing "Show me the Mayberry Money,,, and even
those who went a different direction with it.
Correct currencies listed so far:
A Confederate Savings Bond FOR $100
$50.00 found in Parnell Rigsby's man-purse-- Yes I believe we did see
it.
A buffalo Nickel (actually 2)
(now these from Jeff's list, though he didn't catch the part about not
to include how much stuff costs)
A Dividend Check for 27 cents
$52.50 in cash for the Scobey's Mortgage payment (which we did see at
least most of)
$5,000 Certified Check from National Records (going to give Jeff that
one even though he didn't say certified check)
$25.00--wasn't that the amount from Elizabeth Crowley that she was
actually shown paying In cash?
There is another form of currency not listed yet--and more instances of
cash shown--can you name them??
(hint big and small amounts)
--------------------------
Not to be two picky--but here are the original instructions--We're not
looking for what stuff costs
Either Money is shown,
Or Money is mentioned in a context other than what something costs
Many times, on our favorite show, we are shown money or some form of
currency
I can think of at least 5 forms of currency/legal tender off-hand and
there are probably more......
Also there are times that when an amount of money is mentioned
prominently but the money is "unseen"
Can you name some of these as well?? Now I don't mean price signs, or
what something costs, but when somebody mentions doing something with a
specific amount of money. For instance the Business Man' special for 80
cents doesn't count, but leaving a "quarter" tip does.
---------------------------
Mr. Sasser had a good one for category 2.
Andy saying "Right now I wouldn't take wouldn't take a dollar and a
quarter for it!"
OK get your two cents worth in now

"What was Floyd's last appearance? He was failing later on. Can't remember what
his last show was."
It was the color episode where Goober has a contest and Floyd wins the
non-existent $200.00 prize due to a mistake by the printer. I think it is
called "Goober's Contest".
--------------------------
"Didn't Floyd and Gomer appear together in the police car once - I think Andy
said, no I don't carry a gun but my deputies do......???"
That was Floyd and Goober in the episode "TV or Not TV" where the bank robbers
pretend to be TV producers wanting to film a TV show about Andy.
-----------------------------
"In the episode, where Aunt Bee, Barney, and whomever else changes Andy's room
(when everyone thought they were getting married) to a more feminine look (the
canopy, etc.); was it left like this or did they have to change it back to the
way it was?"
At the end of the episode, Andy comes downstairs and tells the guests that they
will all get back the money they gave toward the redecorating of the room and
that Aunt Bee will get the room of her dreams. Aunt Bee had said earlier in
the episode that she had always dreamed of having a bedroom like that. So I
guess that Andy took her room so she could have the room she had always wanted.
