Yes, at least once, ol' Barn was Bernard P. Fife with no explanation of the
P. But with some serious research over at the County Clerk's office (Howard
can find anything), it appears the P was for Parney. We actually have
evidence from Barney himself when he reveals that he's sometimes referred to
Barney Parney Poo.

IF you are referring to the one that was being built in Wisconsin, you
can contact her at Mayberry After Midnight on the Delphi Forums as
Marsha or Elinora.

I connect with this web address. She and her husband were building it
but I have not talked with her since she sent me pictures of the
building progress. It should be finished by now.

I also marvelled that the little grocery store would carry such exotic
offerings! But I sure did kick up a hankerin' for spaghetti while watching this
episode; had to check my stash of oregano. Meanwhile, I just finished reading
the Dillard's book "Everybody on the Truck." It was quite informative and
piqued my interest so that I went to Amazon and ordered Mitch Jayne's book and
some of their CDs. They feel like old friends and have always been so nice at
the events.

I thought the list of Andy's exotic foods was a stretch - I think he just
said that to Howard for the shock value. Andy wouldn't even try escargot at the
restaurant with Peggy!
If Goober hadn't moved in on him, I think he would have fallen asleep early
and then got up at the crack of dawn and gone fishin'.
It's the strangest thing - every time I watch that episode I get hungry for
spaghetti!

well we haven't met officially. I sent an email about your ebay status.
I've ordered
from you once or twice in the past. I sent my last email from
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
This is my regular email which was down for a while.
I've seen you in Mount Airey I believe. I did't see anything on ebay
for a while so
I thought I would find you with help of wbmubb digest. Sorry if I
confused you or
if I overstepped by emailing you at this email address.

Barney's name is positively "Bernard P. Fife." And the "P" can stand for either
"Milton" or "Oliver."

To Celia,
Don't forget one time Andy says to Barney "I thought your middle name was
Oliver."
Don't know what the "P" stands for but Bernard P. Fife kinda has a ring to it.
