Hello Fellow Mayberrians,

Well, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't have thought it was
possible for Allan to top the cards of Christmas past, but this has to be my
all time favorite! It's extra special because I'm on a committee here in
town that has brought old movies back to downtown and we just showed It's A
Wonderful Life last night. The timing is extra special. And inserting the
Mayberry characters is just right. It's a winner as usual and such a
beautiful holiday sentiment. As usual, Allan, thanks for the kind Christmas
wishes.

All that's left to say is.....

Hope you and yours have a Very M(ayb)erry Christmas!!!!

Vicki Pillow

Ken, I think you should diversify.

Great Card Alan,

I was thinking what might have happened if the Darlings had gotten your card.
It might have went something like this....

Fade in on the interior of the Darling Cabin.
Charlene, Dud, Mr Darling and the Boys are all there.

Mr Darling: Hey why don't we take a gander agin at that nice electronical
Christmas card that that
nice city fellow Alan sent to us.

Charlene: No Paw, that "Its a Wonderful Life" theme makes me cry.

Mr Darling: Well Charlene I guess you might be right. I think it made us all
cry the first time we watched it.
Even the Boys shed a tear or two, didn't ya Boys.

The Boys just look at one another like they have no clue what Mr Darling is
talking about but then slowly lower their heads.

Fade out.

Hey Allen, tried, but both of those links come up with "Not found" on this
server. Any other ideas as to how to open your card?

TRAFFIC LIGHTS. Don't need 'em. Everybody already knows that pedestrians,
Opie's wagonload of thawed beef and Jimmy the Goat ALWAYS have the right of
way! --- (A.A. MPk.)

Don't you find it a little odd that they chose a photo of Andy wearing his tie
with his uniform--something he almost never did on the show??

Hello everyone, I am a new participant, and this is my first submission

forego all the things on his list, if I had that choice. I try to make
my little corner of the world as much like Mayberry as I can. Merry

Hello and welcome Dexter. I'm from Hooper, just down the street from you.
And I also wouldn't mind going back 45 years to Mayberry. Hooper was much like
Mayberry when I was growing up here. It's starting to look more like Mt. Pilot
 these days though.

Actually they *did* have a long line at Wally's a couple of times, though I'm
sure it wasn't because of fluctuating gas prices or fears gas would run out.
In one episode it was because of Goober's contest, in another it was because
a hottie named Flora went to work there.

Here are a few other things they didn't have in Mayberry:

SUV's or min-vans

the internet

on-line dating

five-minute date parties (though I could see Barney staging one of these for
Andy)

video games

tanning salons/oxygen bars

heavy metal (even though this was the Hendrix era)

a bar or nightclub or package store

cars with bling wheels or hoppin' hydros

high school football mania (though this probably would've fit in)

snack machines in the schools

metal detectors in the school or courthouse

tofu at the diner

fast food was mentioned but they didn't have any other chain restaurants
either (like IHOP or the Sizzler or Applebee's)

Wal-Mart or Target or Kmart

indoor malls

as I mentioned before, apparently a new car dealer (or one not affiliated
with Ford/Lincoln/Mercury)

cable TV/direct satellite

mega-churches

video stores

drive-in theatres (nearest was in Mt. Pilot)

putt-putt golf

water parks

convenience stores

self-serve gas pump islands

any business with a drive-thru

Did Mayberry even have a chamber of commerce?
