"It looks like we may be on the verge of starting a moulage about barbeque . .
. ."

Heavens-to-Betsy, I certainly don't want to start a whole "moulage" about
barbeque! I've never had Texas barbeque, but I hear it is mighty fine. Mighty
fine. (I've never been to Texas; I've never even been across Mr. Kelsey's
Ocean.) However, I wouldn't expect to get good Texas barbeque in North
Carolina--or vice versa.

I once humiliated myself by ordering "Italian beef" at the Pixie Drive-In
situated between two dish barns on U.S. 441 between Knoxville, Tenn., and
Pigeon Forge. Oh, the anticipation of that Chicago specialty, that soggy
peppery thin-sliced beef with the pepperoncini on the side!

What I got was what might more accurately be called a pizza burger. My hubby
grinned and said, "What in the world made you think you would get real Italian
beef at the Pixie Drive-In?!" I guess I'm just an eternal optimist.

Did Allan just violate some numbered rule about technical talk on the
Digest? Or it might even be a violation of the Green River Ordinance.
