Kenneth, here's my opinion. Perhaps Aunt Bee would have been a little too hard
on Ernest T. Just think of how many times she would have had to spat him with
that spoon. She definitely could have become his "aunt figure" though.
Also she may not have finished "normal" school, and couldn't have awarded a
diploma. Besides it would have taken too much time away from her household
duties. Since Helen was already teaching, adding one more shouldn't have been
much of a problem.
The burning question is, what was that possum doing under that rock?

AS OUR KIDS HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN THE JUNIOR TRIVIA CONTEST EACH YEAR
AT MAYBERRY DAYS. WE ADULTS HOWEVER HAVENT SO WE TELL EVERYONE THAT WE SPEND
ALL OUR TIME HELPING TRAIN OUR KIDS.HA.HA.KAREN AND MYSELF HAVE BEEN MARRIED
FOR
ALMOST 20 YRS.SHE IS A SCHOOL TEACHER AND I'M A FIREMAN BOTH IN OUR COMMUNITY
WHERE WE LIVE.GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH WONDERFUL CHILDREN AND THEY KEEP US
BUSY WITH BASEBALL,CHEERLEADING,CHURCH YOUTH ACTIVITIES ECT... BUT WE STILL
FIND
TIME TO ENJOY WATCHING THE SHOW.WE TELL OUR FRIENDS THAT WE HAVE BRAIN-WASHED
OUR KIDS.HA.HA.BUT YOU KNOW THATS HOW WE KEEP THE SHOW ALIVE,THROUGH OUR KIDS.

adult. With out a doubt, it was and is the best show on TV. It gave us
