This may be kinda corny, but a freak snowstorm could strand the Darlings,
Ernest T, Otis, Gomer, Barney, Andy, Aunt Bee and Opie (and whoever else could
manage to ge there) at the jail or the gas station or at Andy's house.

Anyone who caught Tuesday night's episode of the CBS show NCIS starring Mark
Harmon, with Charles Durning as a guest star, might not be aware of a
Mayberry sighting. The actor who played the Japanese soldier/sushi chef is
none other than Lloyd Kino, who played Jack Lee in The Andy Griffith Show
color episode "Aunt Bee's Restaurant."

Am I crazy (yes!) or didn't Andy say something odd like "If'n a town has
a "tooth dentist" ..........."
Are there other kinds?
I like listening to the word play in the dialogue especially in the
earlier episodes. If I remembered this wrong and embelished the quote,
sorry. I still like what he said.
Great observation.

Why don't you try adapting one of the other 248 episodes into a Christmas
theme? Say, you could merge the plots (or just use one) from the two eps in
which Barney's in the choir and his poor singing voice is wreaking havoc, only
he
could this time be butchering Christmas songs like "Silver Bells" or "White
Christmas".

I just added a new Diecast Mayberry vehicle to the Mayberry Emporium web
site: The Darlings A-Model Pickup.
This thing is so detailed it even has a rusty engine and a real wood bed!!
Looks like the boys just stepped off!
There is also a neat 16" x 20" matted item with authentic signatures from
Danny Thomas and Andy Griffith from the spinoff episode.
Please shop at Weaver's Department Store
(_http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/_
(http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/) ) for all of your Mayberry
purchases. Then if you are still looking for something, stop by the
Mayberry Emporium and say "Howdy"
Another note: The Season 1 DVD set has all but sold out here in East
Tennessee. I have been checking in stores just to see how sales are. Pretty
Good,
I'd say. No more at Sam's, Walmart, K-Mart, Best Buy or Circuit City.
Paramount
needs to go ahead and get the other seasons ready to go!!
Merry Christmas,
Gary

>>>Were Andy and Helen married on the last TAGS show or the first Mayberry
RFD? Was there any point where Helen was referred to as Andy's fiance, or
he was referred to as her fiance? I don't believe they showed an episode
where Andy proposed. I'd have liked to seen that. Kim - Wylie, TX
>>>
"Andy and Helen Get Married" was the first episode of Mayberry RFD. We
don't know when Andy proposed to Helen (if ever) but Helen is referred to as
his fiancee in "Helen the Authoress" (broadcast Feb. 1967, late seventh
season).

A few days back I posted the following question: Who was the barber in
Mayberry before Floyd? Nobody has even hazarded a guess, so I'm declaring
everyone officially stumped. The answer is Sid Elson.
Floyd first appears in episode number 12, but in episodes 1 through 11, the
words "Sid Elson, prop." are painted on the barber shop window. If you have
the new DVD set, you can see for yourself. It's briefly visible in the
opening scene of "Guitar Player" (wonder what happened to the "The?")

I got to thinking today, which I do on occasion, that perhaps it would be a
good idea if Santa Claus just sneaked into Mayberry this Christmas Eve.
After watching episode "Andy Saves Barney's Morale" I am concerned that if
Barney goes strictly by the book, poor Old Saint Nick is in for a heap of
trouble when he gets to Mayberry. First of all, Barney will most likely
know that he is not from around Mayberry and that he is most likely from
somewheres else, like maybe Canada. And then when he does confront Santa,
he will probably get him for: flying without a flight plan, flying without
lights, not wearing a seatbelt, transpessing, illegal parking of a sleigh,
breaking and entering a house without permission, violation of city fire
code by climbing down a chimney, being an illegal alien without a passport
or visa, flying without a license, disturbing the peace with those loud
sleighbells and shouting out Ho Ho Ho,being out after a twelve o'clock
curfew, keeping wild animals without a permit, exceeding the weight limit
while transporting goods, having elves under forty pounds riding without
being in a sleighseat, and who knows what else. So to make sure all those
good little boys and girls in Mayberry get everything they asked for, I
think it would be best if Andy sent Barney out of town on Christmas Eve.
Maybe he could send him somewhere and do a stake out.
