I knew Calvin Coolidge said something!
Calvin was always rather quiet, I think he must have had a mother like Mrs.
Sprague.

I really enjoyed reading the Christmas Story and would like to publish it in my
Chamber newsletter on Christmas Day. However, I do not have the original post.
I would like to have it sent to me directly by the person who sent it...I
would also like to know who wrote such a warm, "makes me think" story!
Regards,
Ronnie Morrison

In two vastly different episodes both Andy and Warren prepared a hangover
cure for Otis. I believe Andy did it in Dogs Dogs Dogs and Warren did it in
the episode where he got Otis into mosaics. Point being is that I often
wondered about that concoction that they mixed. Well, while reading an
English novel last night I came across a recipe for a Hangover Cure and it
does sound a lot like Andy and Warren's recipe. The English cure is called
Prairie Oyster and is as follows:
2 dashes
of vinegar
Unbroken
yolk of one egg
1 teaspoon
Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon
Tomato Catsup
1 dash of
pepper on top
To be
swallowed in one gulp.
Now being a teetotaler myself, I have no personal experience with this at
all. But if any of you should happen to need it during the upcoming New
Year celebration and if you would care to try it, it would be interesting to
get back a report as to its effectiveness.

I was exchanging gifts today with a few good friends and co-workers at the
school where I work. They all know of my love for TAGS, and one of them
bought me The Christmas Guest book and cd!! I was so happy! She said as
soon as she saw it, she knew what to get for me. Just wanted to share that
little Andy moment with you all. Now, who wants to buy me the TAGS season 1
dvd for Christmas? Any on-list takers? : ) Have a Mayberry day and a merry
Christmas!!! Lisa

Hey Folks: I had TV on the other day but wasn't in the room. Step-By-Step with
Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Sommers was on. I never watched that show much while
it was on the air and really had it on for noise as I'm not a big Suzanne
Sommers fan. They were in a toy story (Frank had a key because he was doing
construction) buying last minute Christmas toys. They were trying to figure out
how much money to put in the cash register and in comes our very own Deputy
Barney Fife with his gun in hand to arrest them. Sound familiar...like the time
Andy was trying to pay for merchandise in the pharmacy and Miss Ellie made her
first appearance. I didn't see the writers of the Step-By-Step episode but it
looked mighty familiar. Maybe somebody knows. At any rate how could I not watch
the end of the story. Barney was as funny as always. The couple couldn't post
bail they had to wait until the judge came through the next day. Well, I hope
you all have a Happy Holiday. This sure made mine. I can't wait to get the
complete first season. If my son didn't get my hints...I'll have to throw a
tantrum like Opie..Except it's Christmas so I guess I'd better be careful not
to get my clothes dirty. Skippy, a.k.a. Cathy, one of Mayberry's Fun Girls in
