Hey everybody, I was thinking the other day about how the Sheriff's
office got called to get cats and people down out of the trees. Is this
common place? I was wondering who got more cats or whatever down out of
the tress, Barney or Andy? I know 1 time Andy told someone he couldn't
do it because Barney has the ladder and 1 time Barney was talking about
when he got there she had her big fat face in a pan of milk and 1 time
Andy went to get Fluffy out of the tree(Barney tries to get Andy to take
his gun, be he will not need it, he and Fluffy have been friends for
years) and 1 time Andy tells Mrs. Pervis that he can't come over there
every time her and Mr. Pervis has a fight and get him down out of the
tree. It's been praying on my mind, so are there any more time they
have gotten things from the tree? Let us know. Thanks, Horatio(Kevin)

Weren't Andy and Opie discussion Gregory Peck (and his ability to affect
an accent) while walking down the sidewalk once? ...and if I recall,
Glen Ford was frequently mentioned in the episode where Barney decided
to show how slack security was at the bank.

"Hey everybody just listening to my Elvis cd and reading tags e-mail and was
wondering if there was ever a mention of him on the show, anybody know?"
I don't think he was ever mentioned by name, but in the episode "The Guitar
Player" when Andy is trying to convince Jim Lindsey that he has talent and
should go to New York, he says, "How about that fella we see every now and then
on television, a-shakin' and a-screamin'. Sound like somebody's beatin' his
dog." That sounds like a reference to Elvis to me, but I could be wrong.

>>>Hey everybody just listening to my Elvis cd and reading tags e-mail and

I would also like to know how many times the Mayberry Band was featured on
the
show? That band was so bad they actually grew on you. Also were there any
in the band who could actually play an insturment?
In "Mayberry Goes Hollywood," Andy mentions "that fella we see every now and
then on television -- shakin' and screamin', acts like somebody's beatin'
his dog." Sounds like a pretty good description of Elvis to me. Five years
later, Opie mentions Elvis Presley by name, when discussing the Taylor
family's trip to Hollywood.
The Mayberry Band (with Andy as director) is featured in two episodes: "The
Mayberry Band" and "Sermon for Today." Andy Griffith learned to play
trombone as a boy and he apparently did his own tuba playing on The Show,
but I don't think any of the other actors were musicians. Jim Nabors played
clarinet in his high school band, but he never played an instrument on The
Show. However, he played all sorts of instruments on GP-USMC, including
guitar, ukulele, ocarina, bass drum and sousaphone -- but I digress.
The Mayberry band shows up in a couple of color episodes (such as "Off to
Hollywood" and "The Cannon"), but by that time Andy had apparently left the
group. Mayberry also has a drum and bugle corps, seen in "The Guitar Player
Returns."

Did anyone mention Duncan Phyfe ("I believe he was a carpenter or
something")?
He was actually a fairly famous New York Cabinet Maker.
