In several episodes, the house to the left of Andy's can be seen to have a stump just to the left of the walk leading to the front porch. In My Fair Ernest T. Bass (Feb 64), Ernest T. and Romeena play leapfrog with the stump at the end of the episode. In Man In A Hurry (Jan 63), the house is Wally's and Mr. Tucker has to go around the stump when he storms off the porch because Wally won't help on Sunday.
So I am always on the lookout for shots that show the stump. (Hey, some people look for Mr. Schwamp, I look for the stump.) Today in Mayberry Goes Hollywood (Jan 61), Andy and Mr. Harmon walk past Andy's house then past the "Stump House" except the stump wasn't there! A tree was! Now, given the dates of these episodes, sometime between Jan 61 and Jan 63, the tree was cut down to leave us our famous stump.
