>>>Otis was not drunk (or a prisoner) when he showed up to take his driver's test with Barney. He also was not drunk (or a prisoner) when his brother Ralph got to Town. He was wearing a uniform!!! I bet there are more if you put your bucket on!!! Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham "My card, in case you ever need my services..."<<<
Neil, this was a good guess, but not what I had in mind. I'll take partial blame for not explaining the question more clearly. By "appearing" I mean that Otis was on an episode. On the two guesses you sited above, Deputy Otis--Otis begins the episode in jail (he has to let Andy and Barney in). In Hot Rod Otis he gets drunk at a party and Andy and Barney take him to jail. Sorry, no credit 1) When did Otis appear (in an episode) on the show that he wasn't either A) in Jail or B) Drunk?? >>>I was wandering about the episode of Mr. Goss & Aunt Bee. Otis brings his suit in to the jail and tells Andy about Mr. Goss "sweet talkin" Aunt Bee. Would this be correct? Steve<<< Steve, that was not the one I had in mind, but I'll have to give your credit for that one. Otis steps into a cell to hang up his suit because he will come in drunk later in the weekend...but he is not "in jail" or drunk. God find!!!, but there is another one..... 2) Who came to Mayberry for a visit and did not get invited to a meal at the Taylor home? Good answers Marie: >> 1. Bobby Fleet & his band 2. movie producer "You're agin us cutting down that tree?" 3. Record man who recorded Andy & the boys at the barber shop 4. Antiques dealer who bought the old cannon (technically he was just passing thru) 5. State policeman from Manhunt (good idea, but lets exclude any uniformed policemen along with prisoners) then there was the state inspector "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs" whats-his-name from the seed catalog company (another I would call just passing through) the man who sold his organ to All Souls Church (OK--short visit only in Mayberry for church) Good Answers Sue >>a. Mary Grace b. Peggy's friend from out of town that was at her house when Andy came to pick her up for a date. c. Stranger in Town - "Boy, you're already there". ( I mentioned Ed Sawyer already) d. The Fun Girls (hey who know what may have happened later that time they stopped over ;) e. Ralph (Otis' brother) and his wife. f. Bob - the guy training to be in law enforcement (Barney's Replacement?) (good one) g. The Shoe salesman (who everyone thought was a music producer from New York) I'll keep thinkin'.
