Martha didn't know how close she came to being locked up by Deputy Fife for not reading her Digests. Not reading your Digest is strongly discouraged. Those who don't read their Digest are doomed to get indigestion and risk having scorn heaped upon them by knowledgeable Mayberrians. On another note, I'm happy that Mayor Pike has given up smoking cigars. I saw that Neil Bentley fellow has taken a room at Mendlebright's. Anyone know anything about that? I heard there was an accident at "Checkpoint Chickie"...? also...
