Don't recall if somebody else has already offered this one, but one person to
call Andy "Andrew" was Andy himself. When he was at Darlene Mason's apartment
in Hollywood, he called the resturant to make a dinner reservation and gave his
name as "Andrew Taylor" Guess he thought that sounded more formal.
What's interesting is that Andy Griffith's given name is "Andy" and not
"Andrew" (Andy Samuel Griffith).
Go figure...
