Hey Harry,
I should have known one of you trained noticers would get this one that I
thought was fairly obscure. I was thinking of R.G. Armstrong! I
couldn't
quite recall how he and Andy became friends. So, thanks for adding the
Roanoke
Island theatre tidbit. R.G. played Mr Flint in one episode. He also
played the
role of Sheriff Taylor in a not-so-great 1975 movie titled "Race with the
Devil". Great wild guess, Harry!

Thanks Dave, it's always nice to be recognized as a TAGS Trained Noticer.
I remembered years ago seeing an interview with R.G. Armstrong and he mentioned
he and Andy had become friends performing in the production of "The Lost
Colony" on Roanoke Island near Manteo where Andy has a home today. I
believe George Spence (Cousin Gloria's boyfriend Frank) was in the production
and a friend as well.
