Caught hold of something in Barney's Sidecar episode the other night that I just can't figure out for the life of me. When Andy is telling Barney that the motorcycle should be over at the National Guard Armory he states, "...We've got the cannon from the Civil War, jeep from WWII...." That statement made me get out a bucket and take a think. Is the cannon that Andy refers to the same cannon that he tried to pawn off to the antique dealer? Wouldn't it have been more valuable as a Civil War cannon instead of one that Teddy Roosevelt pulled up San Juan Hill? I know he used the carved initials TR in the ruse to the dealer but it seems to me that he could have used the fact that it was indeed a Civil War cannon and then the deal wouldn't have been such a dramatic lie. But then that deal wouldn't have contributed to Barney's downing four milk shakes in his disgust with Andy. Harriet, the chicken thief .....Opie, go find a barrel ring and take it to Barney..... _________________________________________________________________ It’s easy to add contacts from Facebook and other social sites through Windows Live™ Messenger.
