Hello, fellow Mayberryians! I had the privilege recently to talk on the air with Jim Shea, a radio personality who is also a huge TAGS fan and advocate for trying to get TVLand to run the credits to the show as they were a few weeks ago - full sized and at a readable speed. For some of the cast members and other workers associated with the show, this is the only recognition they get. Jim talked with Andy Griffith over the air recently (the link will take you to the site where you can scroll and click on the recorded interview) and Andy himself gets pretty emotional about the fact that TVLand is not giving credit where credit is due. If you listen to the interview you will hear the emotion in Andy's voice as he talks about this. Jim has a petition on the site where you can sign up to try to get TVLand to "act like somebody" as Andy Taylor would say. All you have to do is simply sign your name - you won't get mailings or spam from the site.

We know that there is power in numbers; TVLand is changing the whole complexion of the network with their reality shows and minimal airings of the GOOD shows that we all enjoy watching and hopefully they will see that we have noticed the changes and are not happy with the fact that they have chosen to not give those who gave us such a wonderful show (TAGS, of course) the few seconds it would take for the credits to roll. We aren't asking for them to do anything more than simply reinstate what they used to do - run the credits in their readable state at the end of the episodes.
