Sorry for the break in the flow of my little summary of Andy and Barney's Girls. (Don't know if anyone is reading these , or noticed) We had something sad happen in our family, and I'll have more to say about that in another post ..but I'm picking up her with Season 6.
For Andy-- It's all Helen all the time, but mistakes happen both ways. She appears in 16 episodes, and always seems to be by Andy's side. Helen gets jealous again when Andy does a little partying with movie star Darlene Mason in Hollywood, in his blue suit no less!! Helen about blows things when she gets a little too cozy with fellow educator, and all around smart guy-Frank Highlights; The make-up kiss with Helen after the Frank fight. Andy dances (attempts) a modern dance with Helen at Opie's School dance. Rough spots: When Andy give Helen an ultimatum about "running with him" in reference to Frank. Helen gets frustrated with Andy about Sleep-walking Warren pursuing her. Helen refers to Andy as "Mayberry's answer to Cary Grant" after the Darlene Mason photo. Barney (No longer a regular-but guest appearance) After leaving the show after season five due to a movie contract, Barney appears in two episodes this season. One of them is the low point of the Barney and Thelma Lou relationship. Thelma Lou shows up at a reunion married to a man named Gerald Whitfield. Nettie Albright falls for a rebounding Barney.
