The drugstore is probably NOT open on Sundays. Remember, we learned back in
"Ellie Comes to Town" that Andy knows where the key for Walker's Drugstore is
hidden, and that he is allowed to serve himself and operate the cash register
himself, even when Fred (the owner) is present.
But why didn't they make homemade ice cream?
