Growing up in a very small town in the 50's and 60's our Drug Store was
usually open on Sunday mornings so the folks could stop in on their way home
from church and pick up their Sunday paper and/or ice cream. The half
gallon containers of ice cream were then always wrapped in newspapers to
keep them cold. If fact in the fall the owners of the Drug Store would
usually attend one or two Green Bay Packer games and they would hire me to
stand on the steps of their store with the newspapers so the people could
always get their Sunday papers. Unfortunately there was never a Dorchester
after Midnight column in the paper. We got our gossip by listening in on
the party lines just like Sarah did. But we never gossiped in Dorchester -
we just passed along news.

"Well soak it Sarah. Soak it a lot in hot water."
