This is my first post on the WBMUTBB, so I hope this works and it goes through
correctly. Anyway, I'm getting married on August 2nd and then my new husband
and I will be heading to Mt. Airy in September for our Honeymoon. We've never
been to Mayberry Days and are very much looking forward to it. We will head to
Mt. Airy a few days before and also stay at the Andy Griffith Homeplace (it'll
be on the Tuesday before Mayberry Days). I read that the house is decorated
like the 1930s and 1940s. That is really cool because I love to study those
times in history. I also think that some of the TAGS episode resemble things
and storylines from the Depression-Era (such as Opie's Hobo Friend, Goodbye,
Dolly, Andy Forecloses, etc.) I did hear an interview once with Andy from 1996
on YouTube and he said that they were really showing the 1930s (especially in
the early years). But they couldn't totally recreate the decade due to the
budget. I thought
that was interesting.
Oh, one more thing...I love the Citizen's Arrest story with the 11 year old
girl. Every time my fiance, Lyle, does a U-turn, I say, "Citizen's Arrest!
Citizen's Arrest!" This is getting long, so I'll end it here.

"In the best of times, our days are numbered anyway. And so it would be
a crime against nature for any generation to take the world crisis so
solemnly that we would put off doing those things for which we were
intended for in the first place, the opportunity to do good work, to fall
in love, to enjoy friends, to hit a ball and to bounce a baby" --Alistaire Cooke
