I. Had just sent off another messge to Digest fans when I got my 2nd digest today. Robert I already sent you a personal thanks but I must tell all fans of TAGS how deeply touched and moved I am by your kind words and I salute you for acknowleging at long last my hard earn efforts trying in vain to tell fans of my personal recollections of performers ftom the series in calls letters etc I did in the 70s.I don't mind saying and now I feel a load off my shoulders. That you were the shot in the arm no pun intended I needed.you and a prescious few commended me.And since I been diasgnosed terminally ill and having gone thru the horrors of one year of chenmotherapy. You and a few others have made my life more tolerable these. last days.I always wanted to share in a forum my having ben blessed to know many many celebrities from age 6 when I met my hero. A man totally forgotton in todays changing world the one and only Eddie Cantor bango eyes who I consider the greatest entertainer-humanitarian. Then I knew Bud Abbott 3 Stooges Margaret Hamilton Jack Benny George Burns Bob Hope and dozens of character actors from fllms and in this case. TAGS.I I live alone I have no family but with 1000 autograph letters photos 25 fanclubs Obituaries 1965- present 2000 videos 500 dvds and my apartment of show buisness memorablia. You can see I enjoy I love sharing with the Digest the honor I had knowing many from the show.I thank those out there who have offered me their prayers.I feel a great burden lifted off my head having now come clean.I never wanted to offend a blessed soul.I'm no one special Robert not by any means .its just that I guess I have a writing style if anything that celebrities took to and I always supplied photos and postage.they started in return to write me phone me and I'd go out to. Calf and visut Pat Obrien Alan Hale Harry von Zell or meet them in Conn.when they travel East.in our case its the performers from Andys show that strikes a cord and I thank god I wrote down in shorthand every interview they granted me but remember when I never intended these conversations and letters to be published.I gave them all my word I'd say nothing of their views .it was meant for my ears only.but now with my health as it is I feel I can open up example is people asking me of Frances Baviers reaction to the co actors.its scarey to see her views are coming out thru other means .I remain loyal to her.I adored this woman.its tiime to bring this open letter to a close.But Robert I had to thank you and those who stood by me.you'll never know none of you the good you've done.I pray the Digest prints this.You know out there who you are along with Robert James.To know my hard work is reconized touches me beyond words.I see silliy things printed and I guess that comes with the territory but I like to provide thoughtful insight and enticing recollections and now I can with a free conscious.Bless each and everyone of you true Mayberry fans.You're all loyal followers.And Robert again thank you.
