I had to smile when I saw Harriet's favorite lines. The thought came to me that, like a lot of us, Harriet's favorite lines are any that are in any of the 249 episodes! That's a huge tribute to the writers and actors when you can't pick out just one or two favorite lines, but can come up with a list as long as your arm!
We had a similar discussion a few years ago on the digest - but it was centered on how one line (and sometimes one WORD) can whisk you back to the scene immediately. I believe Harriet was the person who sent me a whole passel of quotes then, too. Harriet, you beat ever'thang, you know that? I loved reading your list (and everybody else's) for the same reason as when I read it a few years ago - I was able to visualize every scene in which each line was said. That said, I have several myOWNself, but will quote just a couple: "Now I'M drivin', so I'LL sit in the FRONT seat." "Slack off, slack off, slack off!!!" Hoo boy, that was hard! I was tempted to write " 'You got a uvula, I got a uvula, all God's chillen got a uvula!' 'Hallelujah.' " And also maybe "Opie, you keep a-goin'!" Or "Poor Horatio..." And I could've put "Jubal, Jubal, Jubal!" and "Five." Oh, and "Don't fight, don't fight. Girls, PLEASE don't fight!" and "Still single, ugly, and pittin' prunes." But I didn't. I'll stick with the two I quoted; don't want to get carried away 'cause you wanna know why? You give 'em 30, they'll take 35. You give 'em 35, they'll take 40... --Marsha Scheuermann Taylor Home Inn B&B, Clear Lake, WI 715-263-ANDY _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
