Tom, I find it amazing that Reta Shaw would consider herself a "second-rate actor." I always thought she was marvelous in any role I saw her in, whether in TAGS or other shows that she guested on (I specifically recall an episode of "The Lucy Show" where she and Lucy fought over a girdle or something at a department store sale). I agree with you that the size of the role has nothing to do with the actor's skill or talent. Sometimes it's the small roles played by character actors that we remember with great fondness.
