I love it when something like this comes together. Less than a year ago, with the help of Allan Newsome and Ray Hadorn, we enhanced this webpage on Tom Jacobs. That Lebanese Gentleman. That brother of Danny Thomas, that ladder man in Aunt Bee the Warden.
http://www.mayberry.info/history/index.php?title=Tom_Jacobs I give credit to Paul Mulik for helping me to know about Tom Jacobs (and the Johnny Coons story referenced). Paul, at one time, mentioned the picture you see here and Tom's best close-up. So when I wanted a picture of Tom for the wonderful Website that Allan has set up for is, I had Ray capture this shot. I was so interested in trying to find out more about Tom that I purchased a copy of Danny Thomas's biography "Make Room for Danny". I'm sad to say that there are precious few mentions of this man. (which I will one day capture for the Digest) Now Mr. Schamp is my Fave, Tom Jacobs is Second, my third favorite Mystery Man...was just mentioned by my new friend Tom Kessel. It's Joe Hamilton!! So Tom , we agree on something else. Joe Hamilton had some great lines, so he was a credited actor..which put him in a different category than Schwamp and Tom Jacobs. The Bullet-a paper newsletter that Jim Clark used to send out had a nice article on Joe Hamilton. I think I'll pull it out, and with the help of the friends mentioned above..it may be time for a Joe Hamilton page. I believe we have, or did have a relative of Mr. Hamilton on this Digest. "Barney, there's been a hit and run" "really where?" "Down at the Baseball field" The Untrained Voice Someone commented on the Laugh-out-Loud funny posts lately on the Digest. I agree and add my thanks. We have had some lean times, but we're having a great run lately. Great history, great Current events (Mayberry days) and great humor!!! ( and less talk about thing we can't control like TV networks) _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
