All this talk about elections reminded me of something that happened a number
of years ago. DISCLAIMER: this is only a story, it is not meant to endorse any
candidate or party. How you VOTE, brother, is YOUR business.

When my son Taylor (no bonus points for guessing why I chose that name) was
about 5 years old, we were watching The Darlings are Coming. When Briscoe is
filling his machine's radiator from the horse trough, the dialogue goes
seomthing like this:

BRISCOE (referring to Charlene): Her betrothal's been pledged since she was
five years old.

ANDY: That's fine.

BRISCOE: So don't go makin' any fancies for her.

ANDY: That's the furthest thing from my mind.

BRISCOE (suspiciously): Your words say no, but your eyes say yes.

Taylor said he did not understand what this last line meant, so I explained
that Briscoe thought Andy was lying. Then Taylor said, "Is that because he
know's Andy's a democrat?"

P.S. I wanted to name our twin sons Andy and Barney, but my wife wouldn't let
me.
