I know we reeeally need a subject change here so I wanted to share a
thought and possibly get some feedback.

I can only think of a few times that Opie disappointed me. He was
pretty much a model boy.

1) When he deceived Andy and Peggy because he thought Peggy would
"horn in" on his relationship with his Paw.
2) When he deceived Andy about Trey getting in a fight with him.
These first two were understandable because he loved his father so much,
he didn't understand that they could still be best friends even with
other people in their lives.
3) When we was a sore loser after losing the 50-yard dash and not
getting a medal. I blame this one mostly on Barney for being so
confident and getting Opie over-confident.

Many other times Andy was disappointed in him, it was actually
Andy who was wrong and Opie's motives were more noble (saving money to
buy Charlotte a coat, Losing the job at Mr. Doaks' store so the other
kid who really needed the money could have it. Mr. McBeevee really a
true friend).

A few other times he suffered from bad influences, Steve Quincy,
the Spoiled Kid, The new kid and his Walkie Talkie tricking Goober.
Arnold recording the crook, and hiding the baby. Also Clifford keeping
him out too late.

        Any other disappointments from Opie???
