Ken Anderson and the Mayberry Deputy (David) write about peace and quiet similar to that of Mayberry. I understand why David can't feel that during Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy because he is always on the go making enjoyment for others, but I find my peace and quiet during each Mayberry Days.I've never been to Oregon. I do all the "normal" things during those Mayberry Days (including the concerts, the shopping, the Silent Auction and meeting new people) but the feeling of being busy just isn't there - it's relaxation time I first learned that when I saw Don Knotts, Ronnie Shell and Arlene Golanka at the Squad Car Rendezvous and in "concert" in 1996 in Bedford, Ohio. Driving home, I realized that I felt no tension, no anger, perfect calmness, the feeling that the world was still OK and the lowest blood pressure of my life. That is what Mayberry does for me so thanks to all who keep the tradition alive.
