In Mayberry, History was often Celebrated, Documented, and proudly
retold over and over again.

We had Founder's Day Celebration

Opie and the Essay Contest on the Battle of Mayberry

The Statue built for Seth Taylor

The Drama presentation including Lady Mayberry and Chief Nugatuck
(maybe that was Founders Day?)

The research of the descendant of Nathan Tibbs

A savings bond over 100 years old

THE Centennial celebration (oh wait maybe that was Nugatuke
Nugatuck??)

The Buried treasure and the bogus treasure map.

Lost lovers cave.. where are you .. where are you ..are you.., you

There are probably more history citings that don't come to mind right
now (besides the boyhood of Andy Barney etc.)
So it's only fitting on this anniversary that we have a podcast from our
two favorite historians here at the Digest..Allan Newsome and Bob
Bravetti

17 years ago last month they got on the Prodigy Network and ultimately
the internet and did their version of smoking a peace pipe..and the
rest, as they say is history as hundreds upon hundreds of us followed
the smoke that spelled out The Andy Griffith Show and ended up her in
our little own Happy Valley Called "who's Been Messin' up the Bulletin
Board" and the Digest.

Its right up there in your History Book, no not Paul Revere and that
horse..Allan Newsome and the Mayberry Minutemen (and women) The
Mayberry Digest. Read your book.

Yup History, listen to it, so you can tell your children, and your
children's children

The Untrained Voice
