I think most of the time Andy paid for something, he seemed to just reach in 
his pocket - of course a lot of the time it was for change. When Barney 
borrowed money at church for the sunday paper and a couple of jimmy bars to 
take to Thelma Lou's - and when he was at the diner trying to distract Helen 
and Thelma Lou from the courthouse ( where the fun girls were making a nuisance 
of themselves) and when Andy put down a quarter tip for Olive ( which Barney 
had already done. ) Also - when Opie got his second nickel for milk.

I do remember a time when Andy was looking at this bank book ( remember them? ) 
and commented that it was the saddest thing he's ever seen.
