My Barney moment (continued) Part 3 (sorry this is a repeat, but it
comes after the previous 2)
So what dId I learn from this process failure??
1) When you have a good plan, don't become over-confident with
it..always be cautious and on-watch. Even squirrels can fool you with
their patience.
2) Even though squirrels look lethargic and dehydrated..they can
run very fast.
3) Being humane is good, but don't be stupid. I had so many
chances to end the thing early..but was so proud of my contraption That
I knew I would win anyway.
4) Squirrels aren't necessarily afraid of fire, or being poked
with a stick.
5) Always have a plan B, even if plan A seems perfect.
6) A Dog cage with a detached door is not the same as a squirrel
trap. If I had a real squirrel trap, it would have ended as planned
because he couldn't go back the other way.
7) At the first sign of entry, even by birds..screen good the
first time.
8) As bad as you mess up some times, it could always be worse!
9) Maybe the $250 estimate from the professional is not a bad
idea..Just because you have a good record of trapping mice, swatting
bugs and keeping
birds out, doesn't mean you're master of squirrels.
10) If you can't be heroic, you may as well let others laugh at
you.
This is all true, regrettably
So you see-I had my own "jailbreak" I guess I sort off left the keys on
the nail instead of "keys in the drawer" security
