Andy freely admits that even though The Show was produced in the 1960s, they were trying to make it feel more like the 1930s. Everybody who watches today feels nostalgic, but not everyone realizes it felt nostalgic from day one. That's one reason I've never been crazy about Mayberry RFD. All of a sudden, the town seemed to jump from 1930-something right smack into 1970.
