As I continue to capture automotive images from our favorite show, here
are some more, this time some non-automotive, observations.

*Opening shot in Hollywood shows a rare product name: Standard Oil, on a
service station.

*By the way, the same bus that picked up the Taylors in Mayberry is the one
taking them around Hollywood! It's not the bus you usually see in
Mayberry, although that one brings them back.

*"The Taylors in Hollywood" is hilarious and underrated, especially the
scene where the younger, sexier "movie" Aunt Bee picks up a shotgun and starts
feeding the bad guys some lead.

*We never see "Sheriff Without a Gun" premiere in Mayberry or even play at
the local theater. That's a shame as I'm sure that would've been a
hilarious episode (the movie was likely a complete bomb).

*Names of real people mentioned by Mayberrians: Dean Martin (they pass by
his lounge) and Cesar Romero (Opie has his picture made with Romero's
newspaper and they get kicked off his lawn).

*More real names: when Goober reads Opie's autograph book he reads off the
following names: Audie Murphy ("...love how he makes a Y, wish I had a Y in
my name"), Tony Curtis (Opie says that one), Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Kirk
Douglas, Dean Martin, Dave Schneider (the last name was a necktie
salesman). They also mention seeing the homes of Jack Benny, Debbie Reynolds,
and
of course Cesar Romero.
