I must share a wonderful Mayberry experience I had this past week. I was sharing some messages on Face Book with the Mayberry Deputy, David Browning, and I mentioned to him that I would love to find a Barney uniform to wear when giving my Mayberry presentations. Well the next thing I know David sent me a complete beautiful Barney Fife Uniform. What a prince. He did not want anything for it, so I made a $75 donation to our local food pantry in his name. I went on line and was able to find a great police belt and holster, a police cap, and badges. I now have a great Barney Fife uniform. I also met with our county sheriff and city police captain to find out if I could wear my outfit in public when doing presentations. No problem there, but for my own safety, they advised me not to wear it just out walking around in public or in my car. I have also just finished creating a Power Point on Mayberry just for kids and will hopefully be using it in some schools. I sent out information today to 15 of our city schools explaining what I do. With all the budge restraints I will not charge anything for my presentations and simply ask that kids bring canned goods to donate to our food pantry. I have a few more things to tweak on my uniform and as soon as it is completely ready I will post some pictures on my website. Dave Browning is just one more example of all the wonderful people who are out there in Mayberry land and I thank him again for his generous act of kindness and his unending love of Mayberry. Now I must quit before I start to cry. Us Andersons are a sensitive bunch.
