Those of you who have been to a Mayberry event where the VW Boys have performed have seen Larry McPeak playing bass and singing with the boys. Below are some links to Larry's recent health issues and a way that you can help him. The Mayberry and bluegrass community came together to help him with a liver transplant and can do it again for his kidneys.

I went to a website, "amayberrystateofmind.com, and listened to a lot of the recordings one of which was a song called Lonesome Road and sung by the actor that played Rafe Hollister. I had forgotten what a magnificent voice he had. My question is, did he ever put out any recordings, albums?

I took my car to my favorite Garage (not quite the atmosphere of
Wally's) to have an Oil chance (I can't do it myself, like Alice).
Normally they give me a ride home, but the guy ask me if I wanted to
stay if they got it right in. I looked down at the table and couldn't
resists a "well OK. You've got the magazines to swing it".

Someone asked recently what color episode have you seem the fewest
times? I think I found mine on TVLand tonight. Its Howard's Bachelor
Pad episode (actually called "The Wedding" because Howard's mother gets
married in the beginning of the episode).

Some fans may think it's a Jump-the-Shark episode because it's such a
radical change from typical Mayberry.
I like it. What a great sport Helen is.
A couple of unusual things about this episode.
1) Goober refuses free food
2) Long periods of no dialog (during music)
3) The event that the episode is titled after (the Wedding) is
overshadowed by the more memorable bachelor pad and party.

Happy Mother's Day, all Moms.. and pleasant memories to all those, Like
Opie who've lost that special lady/

The Untrained Voice
Did you hear the latest Webcast? Floyd is Mr. Schwamp's son!!! I
couldn't believe it.
