Hi friends, I'm sure most of you have been to www.retroweb.com and have seen all the great views of our beloved Mayberry that was the "40 Acres" backlot in Culver City. If you haven't been to that website you should check it out. You'll love it. I know about all the old shows and movies that were filmed at 40 Acres....but one thing puzzles the bejeebies out of me. In a few of the aerial views you can clearly see a large ship set right at the back wall of the Courthouse. Why would they build a ship inches away from the walls of a building set, and nowhere near any water? Does anyone know what that set was ever used for? Certainly not TAGS.
