Speaking of Gettysburg, Malcolm Merriweather was earning money from Andy to 
 finance his trip there. That would have been a heck of a haul on his bike, 
 especially before the modern interstates. Cyclists abound at the  
battleground today, probably more than 1964. Barney mentions 'The  Gettysburg 
Address' in 'The Return of Malcolm Merriweather' (April 20, 1964).  From 
Gettysburg to Lancaster to see Jim Nabors perform would be  an approximately 55 
mile 
drive to the east on U.S. 30, affectionately  and historically known as the 
"Lincoln Highway." "Pierce was the 14th, Buchanan  was the 15th, Lincoln was 
the 16th."
