This is for Mr. Forrest, or anyone else who might know the answer.
Are the courthouse plaques which were presented to Mr. Forrest by Andy Griffith those from the exterior set at 40 Acres, or are they those from the studio interior set at Desilu Cahuenga?
It's interesting to note that, at least in one early episode of Mayberry R.F.D. in which Andy was still appearing, the 40 Acres courthouse doors are seen with no plaques, and with no mail slot. The plaques are also absent in this great 1970 photograph taken by screenwriter Rex McGee (and after Mayberry R.F.D. had moved production to Warner Brothers). You can still see the mounting holes for both plaques and for the mail slot:
