I thought it might be fun, since Father's day is approaching to list my top ten
TV fathers.
See what you think and add your comments or choices.

10. Brock Hart-Though divorced from his wife Reba, Brock refused to move
further than two doors away to stay close to his children
9. Mike Brady- Almost to-good-to-be-true Mike Brady somehow kept this family of
six kids
under control most of the time.
8. Lucas McCain- This rifleman/struggling rancher was trying to make a living
off the land and be an example for his son, Mark.
7. Cliff Huxtable- though he was a top notch baby doctor his sense of humor and
availability to his children was one notch higher
6. Dr. Alex Stone- was a pediatrician and father to two active teenagers, and
though the
family waded through issues like measles, girlfriends/boyfriends, school
problems, and
his being called all hours for emergencies, he had the foresight to have his
office in his
house to be close to any family crisis.
5. Ricky Ricardo- Putting in long hours at the Club Babalou to pay rent in an
old brownstone apartment, rescuing his hair-brained wife from one predicament
after
another he still found time to be a devoted father to his son, Ricky Jr.
4. Charles Ingalls-was a homesteader struggling to make a living for his
family.Dealing
with natural disasters, ruined crops and residence of Walnut Grove never got in
the way
of his being a father to his children
3. Jim Anderson- Every evening he would come home from The General Insurance
Company, take off his jacket, put on a sweater, and along with his wife
Margaret deal
with everday problems of a growing family. They were the sort of family viewers
could
relate to as well as wish to emulate.
2. Howard Cunningham- This Hardware store owner dealt with the pressures
associated with teenagers during the 50's and 60's and yet his desire to
provide not only a home but
a father's love never faltered.
1. Andy Taylor- This Mayberry Sheriff was a widower with a young son, Opie.
Though
Aunt Bee served as housekeeper and foster mother, Andy's courthouse door was
always open to his son for their conversations on problems a boy like Opie
would experience
