WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES "TAGS' SO APPEALLING EVEN AFTER SO MANY YEARS? I
THINK A LOT OF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT EVERY HUMAN BEING HAS HAD
THEIR SHARE OF "BARNEY FIFE" MOMENTS. TIMES WHEN THEY LOST THEIR COOL UNDER
PRESSURE OR MADE A MESS OF THE SIMPLEST PROJECTS. NOBODY IS "TOO COOL" TO
AVOID THESE EXPERIENCES, IT'S JUST PART OF OUR HUMAN NATURE. I KNOW I'VE
SEEN MYSELF IN MORE EPISODES THAN I'D CARE TO REMEMBER.

If there was ever a person who could offer advice for our economic hardships
today, it would be Barn. Can you think of all the cost cutting measures that
Barn employed to "watch his pennies pretty close"?
Here's some I thought of:
1. Not having the salad AND the shrimp cocktail at Morelli's.
2. Having the special at the diner.
3. Bringing his own lunch to work - or better yet eating free when Aunt Bee
brings in lunch.
4. NOT taking the fun girls to a floor show.

"I truly believe that we all need to maintain some of that childish
behavior"
I'm all for maintaining childish behavior, however if you'd called us a
child that would have been different. It can be childish to call someone a
child, but as long as some third party doesn't come into the picture - I
think we'll be ok.

I have been reading along and want to know where the name Hogette appears in
TAGS. It seems to me that Ernest T. Bass mentioned that name. But what I
remember is Barney saying (and I don't know how to spell this name)
Halceyon Loretta Winslow was the name. Her father wanted him to marry her
and would have given him part interest in the prune pitting factory. So who
is Hogette Winslow, or is it even mentioned in TAGS?
"Pretty name." "Ugliest girl you ever saw."

HI GANG!!!!
I like both of Mayberry's Mayors. Both Pike and Stoner (that's Stoner, S T,
uh)
had their unique personalities very befitting their episodes. I know one
thing, I would rather have either one as Mayor of my town right now instead
of the one we have :)
Oh, and to Ken - Love all your posts and totally agree with the one
yesterday. Everyone in the world needs a little Mayberry in their life,
have fun and bring out the child that's in all of us now and then.
