In the drugstore Opie dropped the bottle of perfume. true and he didnt bother to see how it smellls. Even back in 1968 as well as today, we can guess why not. Look at the powerful scene following te accident of Opie rising behind the counter looking obviously disturbed. The thought of losing your job over such an accident was of prime concern . its obvious by the look on his face. Smelling its content plays no factor. The same applies in reality if one knocked over a bottle somehow. The last thing is smell its contents. Just a thought ive had for 41 years. Thank you.
