Mark and All, My understanding regarding Andy's broken hand is that he had a heated disagreement with his wife, then Barbara, lost his temper and punched a wall......even by his own admission, Andy could be somewhat of a "hothead" back in those days......I do believe this is correct but I may be misinformed.......they wrote the broken hand into the script.
