I would have to say the best kept secret in Mayberry is by the guy driving
the truck that picked up Andy and Helen after they escaped from the cave in.
We see in later episodes the newspaper headline about Barney being a hero in
the cave rescue, so it is apparent, at least to me, that the fellow never
told a soul that he picked up Andy and Helen. Now of course it is possible,
but highly improbable, that neither Andy nor Helen told him what had
happened, and it is also possible but highly improbable that the fellow
wasn't from Mayberry and he never saw or heard anything about the cave in.
