Hello, Kim I'm afraid you lost the best on the 'H' word--Tom Kessel
In defense of Kim let me say Tom You are talking about live broadcasting. Many
mistakes were made in live broadcasting on television. The actors would meet
with the writers and Directors and producer one day to recieve their lines and
suggest any changes, day two they would read their lines generally at a
conference table and make any suggested changes,
Day three they would rehearse their lines on stage, Day four they would do
dress rehearsal in costume with stage settings and Day five they would act out
the show in front of
Tv camera while the show was being broadcast. Because of the time involved and
the chance of actors forgetting their lines and the many mistakes that could
happen live broadcasting was discountinued and filming was incorporated. Today
it only takes three days to film a program from meeting with writers to the
finished product and many times they can film two shows in that lengh of time
sometimes on the same day. Editing in the early sixties was very carefully done
and 99% of any mistakes were taken out of the film.
I still believe because of it's family oriented nature that the editors of TAGS
would not allow such a misstatement to be filmed. We all know these actors used
profanity at times
but it was never allowed with in the episodes. Live broadcasting can't be
compared to to days filming. I don't know if Kim is old enough to know all of
this but I certainly am.
I can even remember the time Ed Sullivan mispronounced Elvis' name as he
introduced him. This would never happen today.
