Way to go Janet. You had some good guesses unfortunately they weren't the ones
I was looking for.
This is a chant to ward off bad spirits, in otherwords a good luck chant..
However if you count the four-letter words in the chant you find 13, which is
considered an unlucky number
If you count the letters in the remaining words there are 13 a double whammy on
Good Luck. In the other chant Barney recited : "Fly away buzzard, fly away
crow, way down south where the winds don't blow, rub your nose and give two
winks save us from this awful jinx." There is also 13 four letter words a
triple whammy on Barney's good luck.
So it wasn't the jinx of Henry that sank the boat it was Barney's UNLUCKY
chants.
