Today I saw the "Walnut Hills" episode, where the Taylors tried to keep up with the Hollanders. (Opie goes to camp, the Rich kids comes over and Aunt Bee fixes Shrimp and Duck).
A few days ago someone mentioned Manteo, the Island when Andy lives. As I remembered seeing him give a tour of his place..."200 acres of unspoiled loveliness" is what came to mind. I wonder if he decided then that that's where he 'd like to live??? (not Camp Winokee-but someplace with 200 acres of unspoiled loveliness?? ------------------------------------ Keith, you did a great job with this >>>Speaking of trivia..who besides Mr. Griffith/Taylor used their own first name on the series?? So far I can come up with one background actor. I found some. Some were semi regulars and others were just one or two appearances. And a few were close enough to be included. ? James Best...............Jim Lindsey ? Elinor Donahue............Ellie Walker (Andy once referred to Elinor's handsome brain) ? Josie Lloyd..................Josephine Pike (Mayor Pike's daughter. She also played Juanita Pike and Lydia Crosswaithe) ? Fred Sherman..............Fred Goss ? Also, the most outspoken characters on TAGS, the Darling boys used their real first names. Doug..............Doug Dillard Rodney..........Rodney Dillard Mitch.............Mitch Jayne Dean.............Dean Webb<<<< Yes, at times they were, but not always. As you mentioned they were also called other names like OOther. My interesting find was Mary Grace Canfield as, of course, Mary Grace Gossage (real nice!!) more thoughts from..Keeping up with the Hollanders Why would Howard Sprague borrow Andy's oars? He could barely fish is waders, Didn't Andy learn anything about being yourself from the Esquire Club? At least he didn't start talking about the stock market.
