I just recently saw this episode again. I may be wrong, and, according to my
wife, I usually am, but I have always thought the voice responding was Charles
Thompson. He portrayed Asa Bascomb, Asa Breeney and Doc Roberts. In the gold
shipment episode he was Asa the hotel desk clerk.
For an old man he sure was busy. Working at the hotel in addition to guarding
the bank and Weavers Department store.
If you will excuse me, I have to go buy screws for my gun and clean my moldy
bullets. Barney taught me bullet maintenance. He has a beautiful bullet.
