Even though she a minor star at the time Actually Barbara did co-star on a short-lived TV show in the 1950s, "How to Marry a Millionaire." If I'm not mistaken she played the part that Marilyn Monroe played in the original movie it was based on. So she could've already been fairly well known at the time even three years before "I Dream of Jeannie." By the way her co-star, Hayden Roarke, appeared on TAGS while he was appearing on "I Dream of Jeannie."
