While I was watching an old episode of the game show "I've Got A Secret" on the
Game Show Network, I saw the episode from 7 January 1967. One of the
contestants was a man named Ted Jordan. His secret was that he was the man
(wearing black at the other end of the street) who Matt Dillon shot every week
at the start of Gunsmoke starting in 1967. I thought he looked familiar, and
it finally dawned on me, he was the same man who played Gerald Whitfield,
Thelma Lou's first husband. That got me to also thinking that I guess Thelma
Lou really did have a last name, at least on this show, it was Whitfield. I
guess all the true fans of Andy envied Matt Dillon, they all wish they could
have shot Gerald Whitfield every week.
Orville Hendricks - Still selling butter and eggs. Martha has never shot me,
but just because I always remember to hide all the ammo.
