Ken, I agree about the lack of comfort when wearing a suit in a convertable on
a hot summer's day. No one would do that these days. My theory on this has
been mentioned before on the digest. Mayberry was patterned after the 1930's.
Men wore suits everywhere. I know you, as well as I, love to look at old
pictures. I'm also a baseball fan. If you have ever seen pictures of major
league games played years ago you will see almost all of the men in suits and
many wearing fedoras. They must have been roasting. Maybe that was their
excuse to have an adult beverage or two.
