Yes, that is a shame. Unfortunately, these kinds of tragedies happen in all sorts of communities nationwide. Though we on the digest are interested in Mt. Airy as Andy Griffith's hometown, I don't believe most of us want to read about this type of thing on the digest. I don't mean to be critical of you, Wade, for posting that, so don't take this the wrong way. I'm sure your intent was simply to make some information available. But we do try to keep the digest a fun place where we fans of TAGS can share insights, ask questions, and indulge in just plain silliness involving our favorite show. The digest (as well as Mayberry.com and TAGS itself, of course!) is a way to escape the seamier side of life that is common fodder for newspapers and TV. Also, we do need to remember that some of our members are from Mt. Airy. Rather than focusing on the grim realities of a sin-racked world, let's keep our attention here on the mythical Mayberry, where there's always a happy ending.
